The Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF) has extended an invitation to members of the club to join them for a tour of the Arnprior Grove on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 2:00 p.m., beginning at the main entrance. The historical, natural and forest ecological aspects of the Grove will be discussed and all will be invited to exchange knowledge and experiences about the Grove. The now famous gigantic white pine, Ontario’s tallest tree, will be visited.
Following the tour, all are invited for refreshments and dinner (a modest fee for dinner will be charged) downstairs at the Arnprior Curling Club as well as for a presentation concerning Forest Without Borders (FWB).
FWB (http://www.fwb-fsf.org) is a charitable organization sponsored by the CIF with the aim of helping communities internationally and at home to improve their lot through healthier forests.
