Through the windows…

It was a bright and stimulating evening…

In advancing the date of this year’s banquet to late October, we were able to soak up the still spectacular fall colours through the generously-sized windows in our venue overlooking the Sand Point Golf Course.

The stories, images and video clips of our guest speaker, wildlife biologist and research scientist Brent Patterson, continued the visual feast. Patterson captivated us with his presentation on Wolves and Coyotes – the wild dogs of Ontario, providing a first-hand account of the translocation of wolves from Minnesota, mainland Ontario and Michipicoten Island, and most recently, Michigan, to Isle Royale, Michigan.

And between the two, Michael Runtz’s quiz zapped familiar boundaries, pushing our brains to make new, unexpected connections joining the naming of animal tracks and sayings to the fill-in-the-blanks word and photo interpretations.

To the Sand Point Golf Course for their great meal and service, and to our organizers, contributors and everyone who attended, a big Thank You.
