It was a great success! Around 50 people (according to Roger Bird) and lots of owls. We saw a N. Saw-whet around 5 metres in plain view and had it call back and bob its head. We saw a second one, likely a female, at the same location and heard it give its soft response call, one that I have heard only a few times in my life. Here we also had a Great Horned Owl calling away. We heard two Barred Owls in the distance along the Bellamy Road and at our last stop I squeaked one in. It sat right in plain view at eye level for around 5 minutes!
What a night!
