Macnamara Trail Extension Fall 2018 update

A major component of the Trail Extension project will soon be completed!

Dockmaster in Scotch Corners is now building our boardwalk, which will be installed by a contractor this fall. The boardwalk will span over 60 metres of swamp called the West Link and connect our current trail on the south side of the property to the new Nopiming Loop trail on the north side.

We will need club volunteers to help clear and mark this loop —tasks to be tackled during our October 28 trail maintenance “field trip.” See the details in the Upcoming Events: Annual Trail Maintenance .

On September 11, our elite team cleared the existing trail and West Link in preparation for the installation of the boardwalk. Thanks to Julian, Bert, Steve, Paul, John, Bruno, and Janet (taking the photo).

Julian and Paul performed more yeomen work on the September 17 weekend, transporting 10 loads of wood chips for spreading on the main trail and on the new side trail down to the West Link. Thank you!

Downed trees and weed whacking have also kept our Macnamara Trail volunteers extra busy this summer.
