Another Mystery in the Woods

Much of the Nopiming consists of small hills and escarpments.  Here, the ground is flat.  Why so different here?  There might be clues.  The flat area seems rather tree-less.  If you scour the ground, you might find tiny Grapeferns.  And there seem to be constrictions around the trunks of larger trees at the edge of this site. Grapeferns like disturbed sites and the lack of big trees suggest this site was once cleared, The constrictions may have been caused by barbed wire, so this might have once been a pasture where animals were kept.
