About The Authors – Dave & Mary Forsyth
The Champlain Sea lasted from 11, 800 until 10, 200 years ago. By about 9300 years BP, trees and shrubs were starting to grow on the Eardley Escarpment. 9260 years later, Dave and Mary graduated from high school in Arnprior and Brockville respectively. While Dave pursued Geological Engineering at Queens University, Mary chose Nursing.
Following ADHS, Dave spent some 40 years at Queens and the University of British Columbia (Msc, Geophysics), the Atlantic Geoscience Centre, Dartmouth, NS, the Polar Continental Shelf Project, the Dominion Observatory, the Earth Physics Branch (Energy Mines and Resources), and the Geological Survey of Canada. After BCI and Queens, Mary raised a family and, while Dave was looking down, Mary preferred the realm of birds.
We hope these tour guides will help improve the knowledge and appreciation of the amazing geological features in our back yard.
