Feeling blue?

MFNC member and gardener extraordinaire Mark Dallas mentioned a peculiar frog in his Galetta Nursery pond at the last meeting, and he sent us a photo to prove it:

No, it’s not the latest Blue Man Group costume. It’s apparently a not-uncommon genetic variation that reduces the yellow pigment in Green Frogs (and other frog species), revealing only the blue pigment. Don’t rush over there just to see it says Mark, “A snake ate it.”
