In 2018, the Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust (MMLT) is beginning a new event series called Discover the Wild.  Five events are scheduled from April through to October, beginning with Discover the Lowdown on Dirt on Earth Day, April 22.

Come to High Lonesome Nature Reserve  from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m to learn all about soils from David Kroetsch, who is a retired Soil Landscape Scientist (Pedologist).

Registration for the event starts at 10 a.m. Admission is $10 for adults and children under 12 are free.

This event will provide an opportunity to have your questions about soil types answered as well as explore the trail network around the property. The organizers  advise wearing boots because the trails can still be very wet this time of year.
